Our rooms are stylishly decorated in pale coastal colours to reflect our superb location by Gyllyngvase Beach. All rooms are en-suite and have crisp white linen, white fluffy towels, sleep sprays, fast wi-fi, freeview TV, hairdryers, a bottle of filtered water, coffee and a selection of teas.
Our complimentary breakfast gives you the perfect start to your day in Cornwall. We offer fruit juice, yoghurt, museli, cereals, fruit, toast with Cornish butter and preserves; all served with a cafetiere of coffee or a selection of teas. A cracking cooked breakfast follows ranging from boiled eggs & soldiers to the 'Full Cornish' with vegan and gluten free options.
Gyllyngvase Beach (or Gylly, as the locals call it) with its Blue Flag award, golden sands, rock pools, beach cafe & restaurant is at the end of our road and we have plenty of beach towels for your dip or sit. You can hire paddle boards and kyaks at the beach and for the walkers, the South West Coast Path runs alongside.
Our bright sitting room is a great place to unwind, read a book and relax after a busy day exploring Cornwall.
Room One is our 'Deluxe King Room' with a large bay window providing side sea views out to Falmouth Bay and a glimpse of Gyllyngvase Beach. The bedroom is a good size with a comfy king bed with a high headboard, a fridge and newly fitted en-suite shower room with a window. Enjoy a coffee, a good book and relax in the seating area of the bay window - you can normally see paddle boarders in the sea.

Room Two is our spacious 'Superior King Room', and our largest, with some views to Gyllyngvase Beach and Falmouth Bay. The dressing table is a great place to get ready for the day as you look out to sea with the ships and paddle boarders on the water. The room has a new, airy, en-suite shower room with a window, a seating area, a fridge and a comfortable kingsize bed. Decorated in pale coastal colours with crisp white linen, this is a room to kick back and relax in. After a day out, revive yourself with our complimentary hot drinks tray.

Room Seven is a stunning 'Penthouse King Room' on the top floor with sea views out to Falmouth Bay. This is our favourite room with its quirky layout, dressing area and comfy seating. A fridge is provided to chill your drinks after a busy day exploring Cornwall and the kingsize bed is great to relax as you look out to sea. The newly fitted en-suite shower room has a great walk in shower. A lovely light room that catches the afternoon sun.

Room Eight is a bright room with a kingsize bed and full width windows providing a distant view of King Henry VIII's Pendennis Castle and side sea views to Falmouth Bay. This light room is the smallest of our sea view rooms and has a new en-suite shower room. Relax in the comfortable kingsize bed with crisp white linen after a day exploring Cornwall and take advantage of the complimentary hot drinks tray.

Room Three is our popular Twin Room with two full size single beds with tall headboards, a dressing table, seating and a new en-suite shower room with a window. A nice light bedroom with garden views, crisp white bedding and white fluffy towels.
The room can not be converted to a double and maximum occupancy is two people.

Room Six is our small, quirky, Attic Twin Room with two full size single beds and an en-suite bathroom with a bath tub with shower over. The bedroom and en-suite have low, sloping ceilings and some limited head height - not ideal for tall guests! The window overlooks the quiet road that leads to Gylly Beach; when you return from the beach help yourself to the complimentary hot drinks and biscuits.
The room can not be converted to a double and maximum occupancy is two people.

Terms and Conditions:
The Westcott in Falmouth, Cornwall is a relaxing guest house for adults and we do not accommodate infants or anyone under 18 years of age. We are unable to accommodate pets, large groups, stag/ hen or wedding parties.
Book online using the Secure Online Booking by clicking on the "Book Now" button at the top of the first page. Online bookings are handled by the FreeToBook system and you will be taken to the FreeToBook site to facilitate the booking process. All online transactions are encrypted and secure.
We take a non-refundable deposit for the first night of your stay. If your arrival date is within 8 days of your booking, we will take the full payment, which is also non-refundable. If you cancel within 8 days, full payment for your entire stay will be taken. Cancel 8 days or more before your arrival date and no further payment will be taken. If you book through an on-line agent like booking.com, you will pay more money and will be bound by the booking agency's terms and conditions.
We accept deposits by Visa Debit, Visa Credit and Mastercard. We do not accept American Express, cheques, postal orders or bank transfers. If you book using an American Express card, we will ask for an alternative. The balance is to be paid at The Westcott and we accept Visa Debit, Visa Credit, Mastercard and cash.
If we are unable to take payment, we will advise you by email and request updated card details. If we do not hear from you within 24 hours of contacting you by email, your booking will be cancelled.
Whilst we appreciate sometimes people need to cancel bookings due to personal, business, health or travelling issues, there are no exceptions to the non-refundable fees or full payments if cancellation is made within 8 days of your arrival. We are also unable to transfer any payments to alternative dates or people. We recommend taking out holiday insurance to cover any costs you may incur, however unlikely you think your cancellation may be. We advise taking out insurance either before or immediately after you book in order to cover yourself fully.
Check-in between 2pm and 6pm. We offer a self service check-in for guests arriving between 6pm and 10pm.
Check-out by 10am.
The rooms are serviced/ cleaned every two days.
Access: The Westcott is located on a hill. There are two low steps to the front door. All rooms are upstairs: 17 to the first floor and a further 16 to the second floor. There is no lift in the building and we can help with luggage during normal check-in times.
If you arrive and are found to be a stag, hen, wedding party or large group we will not honour your booking and you will be charged the full amount of your booking.
The maximum occupancy of our rooms is two people. We can not provide extra beds or allow more than the maximum number of people in the room. All double rooms have kingsize beds and the twin rooms have two single beds. The double rooms can not be converted to a twin and the twin rooms can not be converted to a double.
Breakfast is served in the breakfast room from:
8am to 9am (1 October to 31 May)
8am to 9.15am (1 June to 30 September)
Our rates include breakfast and we do not offer discounts for guests who choose not to have breakfast.
For the comfort of other guests, takeaway food can not be eaten in the bedrooms or anywhere else in the house.
There is a small Co-op supermarket at the end of our road where you can buy newspapers, food, snacks, alcohol etc. Although The Westcott does not have a licence to sell alcohol you are welcome bring a bottle with you and enjoy a drink in the sitting room or bedroom, we have plenty of wine glasses.
The Westcott is fully non smoking/ vaping (including the car park and terrace). If you smoke/ vape in the room you will be charged £100 to enable us to deep clean the room and you will be asked to leave. Guests can smoke/ vape on the public pavement.
Lost keys are charged at £50 to enable us to get new keys cut and bespoke key fobs.
Parking: Up to a maximum of six cars can park outside and is on a first come, first served basis. We do not reserve parking spaces and 'back to back' parking is required. If you decide to park directly outside The Westcott, we will ask at breakfast if you are using your car that day and you can move your car to allow others to exit the car park. There are plenty of other places to park as all roads are free to park on. PLEASE NOTE: WE CANNOT ACCOMMODATE VANS, MOTOR HOMES OR LARGE PEOPLE CARRIERS, you will need to park on public roads if you arrive in one of these as our car park is not big enough. We can only accommodate one vehicle per room. Any additional vehicle will have to park on the public road.
Falmouth Town Railway Station is an 8 minute walk from The Westcott. If you would like to order a taxi, we recommend Abacus Taxis, 01326 212 141.
We reserve the right to refuse admission on the grounds of the health and safety of other guests and staff.
